This was a simple one day shoot at Kontiki Studios in London, I was playing one of the singer’s friends who’s lost interest in their surroundings.

La Clima Esta Cambiando

La Clima Esta Cambiando, directed by Monze Gilly, National Youth Theatre Senior Course, ensemble.

This was a devised play, this is the first time I worked with NYT and I feel so lucky to be a member of such an incredible group. Since the course I have auditioned for NYT’s rep company, I am currently taking the acting for screen and directing theatre courses.

Mountview Academy Showcase

Scene from Escaped Alone by Carol Churchill, at Mountview Academy, playing Vi.

At the end of my Foundation at Mountview we did a showcase, my scene was from very early in the play (escaped Alone), when Vi is sitting with her friends in the garden before everything descends into darkness. Playing Vi was a challenge, she’s in her 70s, she murdered her husband and spent the majority of her life in prison. I spent a lot of time on physicalisation, understanding how Vi would sit in her lawn chair, how she would drink her tea. I then explored deeper characterisation, following Uta Hagen’s approach which is outlined in her book ‘Respect For Acting’.

Alternative Miss World

Improvised performance, hosted by Andrew Logan at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Playing miss Serene and Tranquil Unity.

The Alternative Miss World is the craziest show I have ever been a part of! It is an improvised show based around the structure of a beauty pageant. All of the actors make their own costumes based on a theme (This one was psychedelic peace). The show is a celebration of creative freedom. I’ve performed in the past 3 productions, 2 of which have been at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the third was at the Roundhouse.

LAMDA showcase performances

• scene study, Richard III, directed by Amy Cudden, playing Richard III (2018)

I played Richard III in a scene study of Act 4 Scene 4. The scene is a tipping point for Richard, he begins to lose confidence from his mother’s curse, we had a day to prepare this scene, so we focused mostly on finding the shift of power between Richard and the Duchess of York.

• The School for Scandal, directed by Robert Price, playing Crabtree (2018)

I played Crabtree, who is an elderly man. As this is a comedy of manners Robert was looking for a heightened performance so I explored altering my voice and appearance with my physicality. It was a challenge but I really had a lot of fun playing a dirty old man!

• The Provoked Wife, directed by Robert Price, playing Mademoiselle (2018)

Mademoiselle was one of my favorite characters to play. I grew up in the south of France so bringing some of my french characteristics to the stage was so exciting. This was a another comedy of manners, so the performances were really big and I loved exploring the bitter sweet comedy of Mademoiselle’s love for Lady Fancyfull and the way she tries to improve her mistress.

• Macbeth, directed by Sylvestra Le Touzel, playing King Duncan and Macduff (2018)

It was a delight to work with Sylvestra, I’ve always had a particular soft spot for Macbeth and I was delighted to be involved in this show. Playing The King was a challenge as it was (again) an old man. I particularly struggled with finding his frailty, I did research on muscle wastage in old age and explored how I could portray that which helped me find this character. I also played Macduff which was a joy, Sylvestra wanted him to be very dynamic and we spent a lot of time focussing on the fight scene between Macbeth and MAcduff, it was the first time I worked with a fight coordinator which was great fun.

Our Country’s Good

Our Country’s Good, Alma Tavern Theatre, playing Liz Morden.

Liz Morden is an interesting character, she has lots of layers. As an actor you can’t have any vanity in this role as she’s constantly referred to as ugly and dumb and a lot of the time she is silent, but there’s a lot going on underneath the surface, she had a very difficult childhood which gives her a lot of emotional scar tissue, she finds her power in silence.

Once it’s Over the Audience Will Cheer, Arcola Theatre, Ensemble.

This play was a multi media performance put on during Hackney Festival streamed over Arcola and Hackney Council’s social media feeds while being performed to a live audience. The play was an ensemble piece exploring the actor audience relationship.
